Answers:

  1. What do I need to get my tax return delivered electronically?
You only need a basic portal for Document Presentation. We can set this up for you with just your tax checklist providing your email address and indicating your desire for online access, and your signed engagement letter. As an alternative, you can use our Request a NetClient CS Account form. (All of these forms can be accessed from our home page.) Once your request has been approved, we will create your portal and connect it to your tax file. We will then send you an email with a link to register your portal, where you will be able to select your own password. Your email address will be used for your login. To help protect your confidential data, be sure to use a strong password, and do not give it to anyone! After that, when we prepare your tax return, we'll be able to send your copy directly to your private portal.

  2. I also want to send QuickBooks files or other files to you. What do I need to do?
To upload documents and files, you will be using the File Exchange function of the portal. Learn more about File Exchange here.

  3. While accessing the web site and the portal, why is the domain name no longer MCLR.net?
You turn to us as the experts in accounting and tax professionals, but we are smart enough to know that we aren't the experts when it comes to the Internet. We rely on Thomson Reuters to host both our website and portal system. They have been an industry leader in hosting online applications for over a decade. The domain they use for our website is "webbuildersolution.com", and the domain for our portal system is "netlinksolution.com".

  4. Can I access my personal and business returns through my portal?
We can link multiple returns to a single portal, but you must submit a "Request for NetClient CS Account". A link to this fill-and-print form can be found above.

  5. Can I see anything on the portal besides my tax return?
We have the ability to post copies of practically any document we produce on your portal, including your financial statements, W-2s, etc. We can also send other files, such as spreadsheets, through the File Exchange function of the portal. If you interested in receiving additional documents electronically, please let us know.

  6. How do I use the portal to send documents and files?
To upload documents and files, you will be using the File Exchange function of the portal. Learn more about File Exchange here.

  7. I need to send a copy of my tax return to my banker/attorney/etc. What are my options?
You can open and print tax returns from your portal at your convenience, which you can then mail or hand-deliver to your banker/attorney/etc. While you can also save the tax return on your local PC as a PDF file, we discourage you from simply attaching it to an email unless you are able to send it via encrypted email or encrypt the file itself. To have us email an encrypted copy on your behalf (for a fee), we will need a signed Consent for Disclosure to a Third Party, which you can find on the Popular Forms page.
